  Geography and climate

Mexico is a vast country and especially very lengthened (3500 km separate Tijuana in the Northwest of Cancun in the Southeast). It possesses borders with the United States in the North and with Guatemala as well as Belize in the South.

Thanks to the Pacific Ocean and to the Gulf of Mexico, this mountainous country enjoys a subtropical climate in plains and more moderated on heights-trays. The rainy season spreads out from May till October, with sometimes hurricanes in September. Otherwise, the rest of the year, the climate is dry and brightened up.

 Landscape and flora
The landscapes of Mexico are very diversified.

Deserts, scrublands and mountains contrast with the wet zones, the rain forests and the coast (which counts more than 10 000 km of coasts).

The highest summits are volcanoes as the Peak Orizaba (5 610 m), always active Popocatépetl (5 452 m), Malinche (4 460 m).

They are situated around by the city of México (2 200 m).

With this variety of biotope, the country possesses an incomparable biological wealth (cactus, palm trees, pines, locust tree).

Among 30 000 botanical species of Mexico, some are endemic, that is strangers besides of the planet.

Concerning birds, most nest in the wet regions.

We count more than 1 000 sorts of birds as the "sacred" Quetzal, the Heron, the Toucan.

There are more than 1500 sorts of mammals, reptiles and amphibians such as the jaguar, the monkey-spider, the iguana, the boa, the whale, dolphin.

Mexico is also it " tierra madre " of the tortoises. On its beaches, 7 of 8 sorts of known navy tortoises, come to deposit them eggs every year.
